Cardiff School of Biosciences
A position is available for a Research Associate to join the Biophotonics Group at
Cardiff Schools of Biosciences and Physics, a multidisciplinary team developing
novel optical microscopy techniques for applications in molecular cell biology
Funded by a BBSRC grant, you will work on a research programme undertaking the
development of a correlative Coherent Antistokes Raman Scattering (CARS) / two-
photon fluorescence (TPF) microscope and its application to study lipid metabolism
in living cells.
You will have a PhD in a relevant science (physics, optical engineering, or biology),
plus experience in practical laboratory work with lasers and developing microscopy-
related instrumentation. You should be ambitious, self-motivated and committed to
scientific excellence.
The post is fixed term for 36 months.
Salary: £29853 – £35646 per annum.
