TITLE:
Sr / Principal Engineer (Optics)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Design, develop, test and implement Microscope Optics subsystems for next generation of automated hematology analyzers; Specify components of automated systems and work with EE/ME/SW to implement and test; Design and integrate systems to maximize system reliability and minimize cost; Coordinate activities with consultants and suppliers; Develop and run test protocols to verify and validate designs; Communicate status and results by preparing technical reports and presentations.
QUALIFICATION:
Strong hands-on experience in Microscope Optics system development for medical diagnostic instruments or other industry; Strong hands-on experience developing systems; 5+ years medical diagnostics instrumentation experience is desired; 3D Solid Modeling (SolidWorks preferred) experience is required, and computer analysis experience, such as FEA, is highly desirable; Experience with Labview is a plus; Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential, and must be able to multitask and work effectively at all levels in a fast-paced environment; Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics is a plus.
Position level will be contingent on education and work experience.
EDUCATION:
BS or MS or PhD in Optics, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics or other Engineering discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience.
