It is our great pleasure invite you to the XIII International Conference on Laser Applications in Life Sciences 2012 (LALS-2012) to be held on the Davis campus of the University of California, from June 29 to July 2, 2012. The meeting is jointly organized by the NSF Center for Biophotonics, Science & Technology (CBST) and the International Laser Center of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in Russia.
The mission of LALS is to provide a framework and venue for the presentation (and sharing) of the latest advancements in laser and photonic applications in the biological sciences and medicine. The LALS conference has traditionally been recognized as the leading event, which brings together researchers from the East and West – pioneering new tools and techniques at the interface of laser physics, imaging and spectroscopy, chemistry, biology and medicine.
The history of LALS dates back to 1986, when the first conference was organized in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Since then the peer-reviewed conference series has gained in prestige and popularity, and has been hosted by leading research institutions in Pecs, Hungary (1988); Moscow, Russia (1990); Jyväskylä, Finland (1992); Minsk, Belarus (1994); Jena, Germany (1996); Bratislava, Slovakia (1998); Tokyo, Japan (2000); Vilnius, Lithuania (2002); Moscow, Russia (2007); Taipei, Taiwan (2008); and Oulu, Finland (2010).
