DESCRIPTION:Antibodies epitomize the remarkable adaptability and exquisit
e molecular specificity of the host immune response. Substantial progres
s is being made towards unraveling the dauntingly complex mechanisms by
which a successful antibody response develops and is maintained. As impr
essive progress is being made toward the exploitation of antibodies as a
platform for the development of biodiagnostics and biotherapeutics that
will have an ever-increasing impact on virtually all areas of biomedica
l science and disease treatment. For these reasons\, this is an exciting
time to bring together scientists working at the cutting edges of basic
mechanisms of the antibody response\, antibody biochemistry and structu
re\, advanced antibody engineering technologies\, and clinical applicati
ons to share their new results\, cross-fertilize\, and synthesize bold n
ew concepts to guide the field.\n\nThis second Antibody Biology & Engine
ering GRC will provide this opportunity in a collegial and highly intera
ctive environment that typifies the Gordon Research Conferences. Leading
experts and thought leaders both from academia and industry will share
their most recent findings on topics of broad interest to the attendees.
Investigators and trainees at all levels will have many opportunities f
or presenting of their new\, exciting results in poster sessions and sel
ected oral presentations\, with ample time for discussion\, networking a
nd brainstorming.\n\nThe conference will be held in the Hotel Galvez and
Spa located on the beachfront in historic Galveston\, Texas and affordi
ng numerous recreational activities. All attendees are urged to stay for
  the duration of the meeting.
